3.4.10 Output Environmental Information

Overview

This Function shall be capable of providing the following facilities:

(1) The ability to take responsibility for the output of information to Drivers and/or Travellers about environmental conditions.
(2) Details of what the information output should contain and to which group(s) of users the information should be output will be provided to this Function by other functionality.
(3) A HMI through which the environmental conditions information can be output to Drivers and/or Travellers.

(a) when the environment information data flow is received, send the appropriate parts of its contents to the driver and the traveller.

    The system shall be able to provide extensive multi-modal trip information, e.g. prices, fares, routes, forecast & current traffic situations, traffic control, demand mgt measures, local warnings, special events, weather conditions, hotels etc.

    The system shall be able to provide information to travellers so as to influence their choice of destination and/or mode of travel, e.g. to protect the environment of a "Point of Interest", or geographic area.

    The system shall enable the traveller to request and receive (anticipated) weather/environmental conditions on, or before, a planned trip.
