1.3.2 Identify User

Overview

This Function shall be capable of providing the following facilities:

(1) The ability to identify the Traveller, Driver or the Vehicle.
(2) Having completed the identification, the ability to inform other functionality about the use that is being made of various parts of the road transport infrastructure, e.g. parking occupancy, time of travel between toll gates, etc.

Functional Requirements

(a) continuously monitor for the detection of a vehicle or traveller
(b) when a vehicle or traveller is detected ask for identification
(c) reads this identification
(d) sends the identification to "Access and Credit Control"
(e) extracts the last related transaction for this user from the "transaction" database
(f) computes infrastructure usage information
(g) sends it to other Functions
